Jonathan Hornik

Jon is Co-Chair of the Real Estate, Real Estate Finance and Leasing practice group and also works within the Corporate and General Counsel departments of the Firm. His practice concentrates in real estate finance and corporate representations. He represents several lenders in a nationwide lending practice, advising public and private companies in all aspects of secured and unsecured loan and equity transactions throughout the United States. Jon has successfully handled many significant corporate and real estate transactions over his career. He has advised his clients in all aspects of transactional corporate and real estate matters, including the acquisition and disposition of properties, businesses and other assets, operation and financing of projects, stock and asset purchases, institutional investments, credit facilities, joint ventures, partnerships, commercial lending and leasing.

Jon has successfully represented many clients in the preparation of Private Placements under Reg D. to raise capital for lending and investing platforms. Jon has developed a specific expertise in workouts and the restructuring of loan transactions, frequently advising clients on the restructuring and disposition of loans and distressed real estate in and out of the foreclosure process.

Prior to joining LHGKC&M as a partner, Jon was Vice President and General Counsel of one of the nation’s largest direct private lenders. Jon is an acknowledged expert in deal structuring and negotiation. Jon has been admitted to the Bar in New York and New Jersey.

Jon is currently serving his second term as Mayor of Marlboro Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey. He was initially elected in 2007 and re-elected in 2011.
